What is Biblical Inner Healing?
Welcome to The 61:1 Podcast
Welcome! I'm so glad you're here.
Whether you discovered this website through a podcast episode, a search online, or a recommendation from a friend, I truly believe the Lord has a purpose for bringing you here.
The 61:1 Podcast was created to share the healing power of Jesus Christ. It is a biblical, Spirit-led ministry devoted to helping believers experience freedom from the wounds, lies, and strongholds that often keep them from walking in the abundant life Christ promised.
Many Christians genuinely love Jesus, faithfully attend church, read their Bible, and desire to follow Him, yet still find themselves battling fear, shame, rejection, anxiety, bitterness, or recurring patterns they cannot seem to overcome. If that describes you, I want you to know that you are not alone—and there is hope.
The heart behind this ministry is simple:
Jesus still heals.
Jesus still restores.
Jesus still sets captives free.
These truths have transformed my own life, and it is my prayer that they will transform yours as well.
Why Is It Called The 61:1 Podcast?
The name comes from one of my favorite passages in Scripture:
"The Spirit of the Lord God is upon Me, because the Lord has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound."
— Isaiah 61:1 (NKJV)
When Jesus began His earthly ministry, He read these words in the synagogue and declared that this prophecy was fulfilled in Him (Luke 4:16–21).
Jesus didn't come only to forgive sins so we could spend eternity with Him. He also came to bind up broken hearts, proclaim freedom to those held captive, restore what has been wounded, and reconcile people back to the Father.
That is the heartbeat of this ministry.
What Is Biblical Inner Healing?
Inner healing is the process of inviting the Holy Spirit to bring His truth, healing, and restoration into the wounded places of our hearts.
Throughout life we experience painful events. We are rejected, betrayed, abused, abandoned, criticized, or wounded by the words and actions of others. Those experiences often shape the beliefs we carry about ourselves, about other people, and even about God.
Without realizing it, we may begin believing lies such as:
I'm not enough.
I'm unwanted.
I'll never be loved.
I have to earn God's acceptance.
I can't trust anyone.
I'll always fail.
These lies influence our emotions, our relationships, our decisions, and our spiritual lives.
Biblical inner healing is not about changing God's truth to match our feelings. It is about allowing God's truth to replace the lies that have taken root in our hearts.
Jesus is not intimidated by our pain. He invites us to bring every wounded place into His presence so He can heal what has been broken.
What Does the Bible Say About Inner Healing?
While the phrase inner healing is not found in Scripture, the principle is woven throughout the Bible. God has always cared deeply about the condition of the human heart.
David prayed: "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a steadfast spirit within me." (Psalm 51:10)
Proverbs 4:23 reminds us: Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it spring the issues of life." The condition of our heart influences every area of our lives.
Psalm 147:3 tells us: "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Jesus consistently ministered beyond outward behavior. He addressed the heart.
He restored Peter after failure. He healed the woman who had suffered for twelve years. He freed Mary Magdalene from spiritual bondage. He welcomed the Samaritan woman despite her broken past. He didn't simply forgive people. He restored them. The ministry of Jesus reveals the Father's desire to heal every part of us—spirit, soul, and body.
One of my favorite biblical words is the Greek word sozo. It means to save, heal, deliver, preserve, and make whole. Salvation is more than the promise of heaven one day. Through Christ we are invited to experience healing, freedom, and wholeness as we walk with Him today.
Why Is Inner Healing Important?
Many believers spend years trying harder to overcome struggles without ever addressing the root of the issue. We may modify our behavior while the pain beneath it remains untouched. Inner healing helps uncover those hidden roots.
As the Holy Spirit reveals areas where lies have taken hold, we can repent for believing what is false, forgive those who wounded us, receive God's truth, and begin walking in lasting freedom.
Healing is not about reliving pain for the sake of revisiting the past. Healing is about allowing Jesus to enter those memories and reveal His presence, His truth, and His love.
Freedom becomes possible because truth replaces deception.
My Own Journey
Several years ago, I discovered biblical inner healing after realizing I was carrying deep wounds from rejection, shame, fear, bitterness, and emotional pain. Although I loved Jesus, I had never learned that He desired to heal the broken places in my heart, not just forgive my sins.
When I finally said yes to the healing journey, everything began to change.
Through Spirit-led inner healing sessions, I experienced Jesus meeting me in places of deep rejection, shame, and performance-based thinking. The burdens I had carried for years began to lift, and I discovered a freedom I didn't know was possible.
That journey eventually led me to become trained in inner healing and deliverance ministry, where I now have the privilege of walking alongside others as they encounter the same healing power of Jesus that transformed my own life.
